At our spring plant sale, scheduled this year for Saturday, May 13, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Hansberry Garden and Nature Center offers seedlings, potted plants, and cut flowers just in time for Mothers’ Day. It features native plants, which play a key role in keeping our ecosystem healthy.
During the week of Oct. 13, a contractor will begin to execute Phase I of our ambitious Land Use Master Plan with the construction of a retaining wall on the southeastern side of the property. A narrow trench will be from the Hansberry side of the garden dug to connect the water supply to the new location.

Hansberry Garden and Nature Center is extending its public outreach program this season with a series of four workshops. The workshops, all free and open to the public, cover topics of particular interest to urban gardeners — but also to those who are interested in the safety and quality of the produce they eat.
