Originating in Tennessee, the Cherokee Purple is a consistent favorite for its balance of acisity and sweetness, with a hint of smoky flavor. The plant is open-pollinated and indeterminate, bearing large ounce flattened-globe fruits that are dark reddish-purple to black with green/brown shoulders.
Plants need to be staked and reach a height of five to seven feet at maturity.
Harvest 80-90 days from transplantation.
