With help from Germantown United Community Development Corporation, several Germantown gardens are joining together to offer a free produce stand on Sunday, Aug. 30, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Germantown Market Square.
The group, tentatively named Associated Gardens of Germantown, includes Hansberry Garden & Nature Center, Fernhill Food Forest, Germantown Residents for Economic Alternatives Together (GREAT) Cooperative Farm, and the Kelly Green Project. We are actively recruiting other member gardens to the association. If you would like to donate produce, contact info@hansberrygarden.org.
The produce stand on Aug. 30 is a pilot project; AGG hopes to grow its membership and operate the stand on a regular basis in 2027.
The gardens’ produce will be supplemented by gifts from local organizations including Northwest Mutual Aid Collective, Weavers Way, and Germantown United; and local farmers Tap Root Farms and Germantown Kitchen Garden.
