PLEASE NOTE: Because of an unfavorable weather forecast, the Streets Department has postponed this event. Let’s clean up on Saturday, April 14!
As the winter snow melts, Germantown residents are often confronted with the refuse that was hiding under it. To clean up the city’s streets would require an army of volunteers. Luckily, the Streets Department brings that army together every year in early April, and you can join it. Last year, the Department’s Philly Spring Cleanup marshaled 20,625 volunteers at 825 project sites to clean up 649,000 pounds of trash. Let’s help make 2018’s Cleanup a success!
Hansberry Garden and Nature Center and the Kelly Green Project will join good neighbors all over the city to pitch in to the 11th annual Philly Spring Cleanup on Saturday, April 14 April 7, 2018, from 9 a.m. to noon. Join us to make Southwest Germantown look its best.
To help, you may sign up at the Philly Spring Cleanup website (after registering or logging in, search for “Hansberry Garden” to find our event) — or just show up at Hansberry Garden and Nature Center, 5150 Wayne Ave., to collect cleaning equipment. We’ll be sprucing up the area surrounding Hansberry Garden and the grounds of the Kelly School.
