Thanks to the great outpouring of support, even though the weather didn’t want to cooperate, Hansberry Garden and Nature Center’s (HGNC) 2017 Plant Sale on May 13, 2017 was a success. Long-time supporters and first time newcomers flocked to HGNC to meet all of their annual, perennial, vegetable, and native plant needs. Volunteers were on hand to help sell plants and offer insight and advice to potential customers. Our delicious Baked Goods Sale kept shoppers energized while they perused our offerings.
HGNC’s Plant Sale is our garden’s #1 fundraiser and the continued success is paramount to our continued existence. Our new greenhouse should make things even easier on our volunteers and increase our availability in 2018. Much thanks to Dennis Barnebey and Cherron Perry-Thomas for organizing the Plant Sale and Lakesha Ferguson for organizing the Baked Goods Sale.
Thank you everyone who came out and we hope to see you next year!
